Inside The Bhangra Showdown

In 2007, students from the university Punjabi Society at Imperial College London established the first and only bhangra competition in the UK. Since then The Bhangra Showdown has encouraged many hundreds, even thousands of students across the nation to take up the traditional Punjabi dance and form teams within their university.

At the launch party for the 2010 competition, we spoke to committee members of the Imperial Punjabi society about the aims of the event and the inspiration behind the hard work that they continue to put in each year.
