...with Imperial College bhangra team

Students from Imperial College, London, have been the orchestrator's of the UK's first university bhangra competition, The Bhangra Showdown. Some of these very same students along with others within the university are also part of the Imperial College bhangra team and have been entering the competition as well as performing at numerous other student events since 2007.

The team has a very cosmopolitan line-up with many non-Punjabi members and are a very close, almost family-like unit. They have a strong history of performing bhangra at the university - as would be expected of founders of The Bhangra Showdown!

After coming so close to winning in the first two Bhangra Showdown competitions, the team from Imperial College placed first at the competition in 2010. We met with the students to find out a little more about them, their thoughts on Punjabi culture and the team itself.
